The Niger State Government has warned traders to desist from the sale of fertilisers at prices above the one approved by the government.
State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, issued the warning during his visit to Savannah Fertilizer Services, Kontagora.
Sani Bello, who called for the effective coordination of the input to get to real farmers, also urged persons found flouting the directive to be reported to the appropriate authority for action.
The governor noted that fertiliser ending at the door of non-farmers was a major reason for the price hike.
Meanwhile, AgroNigeria reported last week that the Niger State chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) issued a warning to farmers to stop purchasing adulterated fertilisers.
The warning followed rumour of sale of adulterated fertilisers by some persons in the state.
State Chapter chairman, Alhaji Galadima noted that the caution became necessary after the association verified rumours of the circulation.
Galadima also called on farmers to report persons found selling adulterated fertilisers to the nearest security outfit.
