The move is part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to provide palliatives to citizens who may be grossly affected by state lockdown he ordered to check the spread of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country.
In his visit to the Food Reserve in Minna, Niger State on Monday, Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, officially handed over the Minna Grain Reserve to the Minister of Humanitarian Services, Disaster Management and Social Development, Haj. Sadiya Umar Farouq.
The agriculture minister also approved the distribution of the grains for urgent release through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
